Big Brother Naija Gist: What Everyone’s Talking About BBNaija Season 10 continues to deliver on every front—romance, tension, strategy, and moments that make us pause, laugh, or clap. If you haven’t been watching closely, here’s a rundown of the hottest stories and happenings in Biggie’s house this week. 🔥 Romance & Ships Heating Up Denari & Doris seem to be growing closer by the day. Denari made a move recently by asking Doris to be his girlfriend (yes, in his British accent—edgy!). Their late-night cuddles and flirty banter are already becoming fan favorites. But romance isn’t one-sided—Sultana is clearly putting in work. She cooked for Koyin, gave him extra portions when she thought nobody was looking, and generally made sure he knows she cares.       A WISE MAN ONCE SAID 1. Don’t call someone more than twice in a row. If they don’t answer, they probably have something important to do. 2. Pay back money you borrowed before the person asks for it. This shows that you are responsible. The same goes for borrowed items like umbrellas and pens. 3. Don’t order the most expensive food when someone else is treating you to a meal. 4. Don’t ask personal questions like “Why aren’t you married yet?” or “Why don’t you have kids?” It’s not your business. 5. Always hold the door open for the person behind you, whether they are male or female, older or younger. Treating people well does not make you less important. 6. If you share a taxi with a friend and they pay, offer to pay next time. 7. Respect different opinions. What seems like a 6 to you might look like a 9 to someone else. Getting a second opinion is also good. 8. Don’t interrupt when someone is talking. Let them finish what they want to say. 9. If you tease someone and...

The Attorney General has approached the court seeking the deregistration of the African Democratic Congress, Accord Party, and three other political parties. The Attorney General of the Federation has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to direct the Independent National Electoral Commission to deregister five political parties, arguing that their continued existence breaches constitutional provisions and weakens the integrity of Nigeria’s electoral system. In court filings, the Attorney General argued that without judicial intervention, the Independent National Electoral Commission would continue to act in violation of its constitutional responsibilities by retaining parties that have not met the minimum legal requirements. The submission emphasized that the right to form or belong to a political party is not absolute but subject to constitutional provisions. It added that granting the reliefs sought by the plaintiffs would serve the interest of justice. The suit, marked FHC/AB...

FRSC recovers car stolen since 2023 in Anambra The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has recovered a stolen vehicle in Nnewi, Anambra State, three years after it was snatched during a kidnapping incident. The FRSC says the development highlighted the effectiveness of the National Vehicle Identification Scheme, NVIS. According to the statement by the agency, the recovery, which took place on April 4, 2026, at the NVIS Desk Office in Nnewi, followed a careful verification process during an attempt to process proof of ownership documents on the NVIS portal. According to the Corps, suspicion was raised when the chassis number submitted for documentation did not match existing records, prompting further checks by the NVIS Officer. A deeper review revealed inconsistencies linked to a vehicle already registered in the system. Acting in line with standard procedures, the officer requested a physical inspection of the chassis number on the vehicle. The verification exposed the real identity...

Catholic church dismisses bold sister who called out priests for preying on them, offered KSh 8k A Catholic congregation has reportedly dismissed its member weeks after she made a controversial post on Facebook. Reverend Sister Shako Annastasia previously called out priests against preying on reverend sisters or using them as their wives. In the long post, which went viral, Annastacia narrated the struggles and mistreatment of religious sisters in the Church. She confronted the harmful assumptions that they are subservient to priests or serve as their companions in ways that compromise their dignity . Religious sisters are not priests’ wives or bedmates. Religious sisters are not ornaments in habits. We are not commodities for priests to use at will, nor are we mistresses in veils. We are women called by God, consecrated to service, prayer, and the mission of the Church. Yet too often, behind stained glass windows and polished marble altars, we are treated as less. A priest once told m...

Chinese scientists claim to have built the first "brain-like" AI model — said to be up to 100 times faster than ChatGPT SpikingBrain1.0 claims to revolutionize the way large language models work and, if accurate, could be a game changer in the field. In the mid-20th Century, we had the Space Race kick off, and in the mid-2020s, we're very much in the middle of the AI  race. Nobody is sitting still, with parties all around the globe pushing for the next big advancements. Chinese scientists are now making a big claim to have made one of their own. As reported by the independent , SpikingBrain1.0 is a new large language model (LLM) out of China, which ordinarily might not be so exciting. But this isn't supposed to be any normal LLM. SpikingBrain1.0 is reported to be as much as 100x faster than current models such as those behind ChatGPT and Copilot All down to the way the model operates, which is something completely new. It's being touted as the first "brain-...

Nigeria and South Africa clash in World Cup qualifier Despite without the injured  talismanic striker Victor   Osimheh, the Super Eagles will be out to take the three points at stake against South Africa tomorrow, September 9 , even if it’s ‘by an odd goal’ in the words of coach Eric Sekou Chelle, to truly put their 2026 World Cup hope alive. After an underwhelming campaign in the opening four matches where  they earned a paltry three out of possible 12 points, the Super  Eagles seem to have undergone  some sort of resurgence under new coach, Eric Sekou Chelle as the team collected seven points from their next  three matches including a 1-0 win against Rwanda in Uyo on Saturday. That victory leap-frogged  Nigeria to third position with 10 points behind Benin (11 points) and leaders,  South Africa (16 points) while Rwanda  moved to fourth position on eight points and Lesotho and Zimbabwe  followed suit  on six and four points ...

ADC youths issue INEC 72-hour ultimatum, threaten nationwide protest The Youth Wing of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has issued a three-day ultimatum to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, demanding the restoration of the party’s leadership as recognized in 2025 or face nationwide civic action. Addressing journalists on Monday at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja, the ADC National Youth Leader, Balarabe Rufa’i, accused INEC of undermining democracy and acting outside its constitutional powers. Rufa’i described Nigeria as being “under democratic siege,” alleging that institutions meant to safeguard the will of the people were being compromised and weaponized against democratic principles. He traced the crisis to a National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting held on July 29, 2025, where the party dissolved its National Working Committee and produced a new leadership led by David Mark. According to him, INEC had initially verified and officially recog...
