           NNPCL INCREASES FUEL PRICE

 The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has raised the price of Premium Motor Spirit following an increase in the gantry price by Dangote Refinery.

A market survey by Dasleeknews on Thursday revealed that NNPCL filling stations in Abuja and surrounding areas have increased the pump price of petrol to N1,364 per litre, up from N1,295.

This represents an increase of N69 per litre by the state-owned oil company.

The new prices are already reflected at NNPCL outlets in Gwarimpa, Kubwa Expressway, Wuse Zone 6, and Zone 4 in Abuja.

It would be recalled that on Wednesday, Dangote Refinery raised its gantry price by N75, moving it from N1,200 to N1,275 per litre. The increase was attributed to a rise in crude oil prices, which climbed above $115 per barrel.

 The Attorney General has approached the court seeking the deregistration of the African Democratic Congress, Accord Party, and three other political parties. The Attorney General of the Federation has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to direct the Independent National Electoral Commission to deregister five political parties, arguing that their continued existence breaches constitutional provisions and weakens the integrity of Nigeria’s electoral system. Amotekun parades suspected criminals in Ondo Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, otherwise known as the Amotekun Corps, have arrested two suspected kidnappers and armed robbers operating in the state. While parading the suspects at the headquarters of the Corps in Alagbaka, Akure, the Commander Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed that the suspects were arrested in Owo, the headquarters of the Owo Local Council Area of the state. Adeleye, who also stated that others were apprehended within the Oloko axis of Akure metropolis during a week-long clearance operation across the state, noted that the arrests were carried out by joint operations of security agencies in the state. Ex-senatorial candidate jailed 10 years for selling petrol to Boko Haram A 2015 senatorial candidate in Borno State, Babagana Habeeb, has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by the Abuja Federal High Court for selling petrol to Boko Haram terrorists. The politician was convicted on Friday by Justice Peter Lifu on a one count charge of aiding and abetting terrorism in the country brought against him by the Federal Government. Habeeb, a fuel dealer in Maiduguri, capital of Borno State, had upon his arraignment on the one count charge admitted guilt of selling fuel to the terrorists.
